Vlogglebox episode 1 review ★★★★

When I first looked into Vlogglebox I was unsure as to what I should expect. Was this going to be a good spin off of Gogglebox? Maybe.

When the show started I was a little skeptical of what it would be like. It appeared to be quite repetitive but I thought I would persevere and see what the characters were like as well as what Vloggers were being watched.

Watching the video of Jonathan Pie and listening to his political views following the general election. It was interesting to see how people who know each other have a debate from just a small snippet of a video and someone's opinion. The topic of the general election has been the talk of the news for a long time and it is key to note that every individual of voting age has their own opinion. It's nice to see that there are valid views for each person voting for a particular party, especially Pete and Sophie on the bus!

The show has a diverse audience and The grandmother from Leeds shows how older people don't understand things like the younger generations do but it tries to incorporate everyone into it. I think that is key as the show is not focused on one particular generation or age range.

Back to Pete and Sophie - they make reference to how people talk after watching videos and it's become everyday life and almost like a norm. Everyone has their social media in their pocket or at least most people do and it's rapidly changing the way young people are being perceived, always on their phones or computers but it is key to add that vloggers are growing and it's due to this interest and changing environment and social interaction.

The show where parents divulged into their sex lives with their children could be seen as a bit controversial. It is important that sex education is explored but perhaps not with parents. I like that the show ask other members of the public to share their experiences but this is perhaps not a good thing for a tv as it may show encouragement.

Back to encouragement, when the little boy had his tooth pulled out by a piece of string attached to a door shutting it could be seen to show negativity amongst the internet and it's vloggers in general.

Following on from this, there is a new craze where people watch spots/cysts being squeezed. It can be seen as disgusting but the amount of people on the show who found it fascinating is astounding. The excitement on mostly Welsh girls faces was unexpected. It shows how they are not put off by this as they were still eating any they find it quite satisfying. In addition to this Pete and Sophie have as fair point in saying why do you let it get that big?! I think this is a question a lot of people ask each other generally and it's not just on the show.

Overall I think that Vlogglebox episode 1 was a good start to the series. At first I didn't know what to expect but it is quite good to react to the vloggers myself when I thought I wouldn't. Definitely a good show to continue watching! I can't wait for episode 2.
