Tonight’s episode saw our favourite minions view a variety of shows such as BBC News’ report on the schoolboy rebellion of skirt wearing; this shocked the boys to say the least. And let’s not forget the awakening of a new religion, Connorism. All hail Connor!
The first show to watched was Pitch Battles hosted by Mel Giedroyc, but without her sidekick Sue. Pitch Battles theme came from the Hollywood success of Pitch Perfect (2012) and this was blatantly obvious for the show was simply a scene from the film, minus the American accents. Though many of the kids loved it and thought that two teams of singers battling for vocal power was exciting, Jacob was fast to realise that like many British television shows, it was all staged.
Sugar Free Farm sounded ludicrous to the kids as the thought of no sugar, and most importantly no WiFi, left them questioning why someone would want to go to said farm. The reveal of the celebrity’s ‘stack’ was disgusting and shocking to see just how much sugar and bad food we consume. Peter’s sugar withdrawals illustrated to the kids just how much we rely upon sugar in today’s diet as an ambulance is called to assist.
Back to the Future II filled the sprogs with laughter as Ashton stressed over how the film predicted 2015 to involve flying cars, which of course it hasn’t. However, Lady Gaga did have s flying dress, so technology is getting there! The kids view the scene where Marty is ambushed by as Connor called them, ‘army and fashion school drop outs’. I wonder if 2317 will actually have the iPad 71?
